Summary

Torch is looking for a dynamic Head of People & Culture to lead our people strategy during a period of rapid growth. In this key leadership role, you'll design and implement HR frameworks that support scaling, drive employee engagement, and build a strong, values-driven culture.

You'll oversee all areas of HR, including organizational design, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, and total rewards. We're seeking someone who’s both strategic and hands-on — experienced in fast-paced environments, passionate about people, and skilled in aligning HR with business goals.

1. Proven experience developing HR strategies, frameworks, and structures to support fast-growing organizations.

2. Successfully led business process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across operations.

3. Skilled in designing organizational structures that align with business goals and support sustainable growth.

4. Strong alignment with company culture, with a track record of implementing impactful employee engagement programs and fostering agile, positive work environments.

5. Expertise in talent acquisition strategies, including employer branding, EVP development, and proactive recruitment to meet business needs and timelines.

6. Led the design and rollout of competency frameworks, learning and development, and performance management in scaling organizations.

7. Developed and implemented effective total rewards strategies, including job evaluations and compensation structures.

8. Built and led high-performing HR teams, with strong communication skills across all levels, including C-suite.

9. Solid understanding of employment law and personnel administration.

10. Well-connected in professional and community networks to support recruitment and organizational goals.

Requirements

1. Min. 10 years of HR experience, including 5+ years leading People & Culture teams in fast-scaling environments; retail industry experience is a plus.

2. Proven ability to build and implement HR strategies that align with rapid business growth.

3. Strong background in Organizational Development (OD) and Talent Management (TM), with experience in process improvement, L&D, and performance management.

4. Skilled in talent acquisition, including EVP development, employer branding, and proactive recruitment.

5. Track record of driving employee engagement and creating agile, supportive workplace cultures.

6. Expertise in total rewards, job evaluations, compensation, and employment law compliance.

7. Experienced in leading and mentoring HR teams, with strong communication skills across all levels, including executive leadership.

8. Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical skills.

9. Fluent in written and spoken English.

10. Preferred: Strong professional and community networks to support HR and recruitment goals.
